When you first buy a RV, it has a newly purchased smell. The leather seats, fresh carpet, fabrics, paints, unused bathroom pipes together emit a brand new scent. There is no musty or mildew odor. You may take a deep breath, exhale and it is clean. However, after owning a RV for a few weeks, months, years the new smell deteriorates at a fast pace. It is difficult for a RV to maintain a newly purchased smell. A RV sits and is stored with windows and doors shut for long periods. It has a kitchen, bathroom, living and sleeping quarters where people gather on long-term excursions. Smells are compounded, building and not pleasant. The space is limited and trapped smells gather inside with no circulation. So what do you do?
Good ventilation helps mask unwelcomed RV odors. It helps to open windows even while out in the wilderness. Many RV travelers are scared to leave windows and doors open due to wild animal elements, but it does assist in ridding the odor. To effectively rid the vehicle of odor use an odor eliminator product. An odor eliminator product, such as What Odor?, will not mask the stink but rather rid it completely.
When eliminating the unwanted smells, do not forget to clean the fabrics. Clean the window treatments, carpet, upholstery, any fabric found within the vehicle. Be thorough and spray a safe odor eliminator product on the surfaces allowing you to breathe easily without inhaling awful smells causing you to gag. At times, it is not ideal to be confined to a RV, and being forced to tolerate unpleasant odors during these moments subtracts from the lovely experience of traveling on the open road. Thus, do not deal with it if you do not have to. Utilize odor eliminator products throughout the vehicle.
Another difficult task when owning a RV is managing the spoiled egg smell that lingers throughout the RV and backs up via the drains and toilets. It is an awful task to clean this area. No one wants to do it but it must be managed for health and sanitary issues. No one wants to ride in a vehicle smelling like sewage fuming from various vehicle drains. Therefore, one way to fix the issue is to empty and drain the grey and black water tanks. Once this disgusting, yet necessary task is completed, pour the odor eliminator product directly into the grey and black water tanks. It will ensure the aroma will be changed, fresh, and rid the awful odors from rising again.
Furthermore, do not pour any harsh chemicals into your toilet tanks, shower drains and sink drains on the RV. For any gases will circulate throughout the vehicle causing illness amongst the family and/or pets. It is not worth taking the chance. Nothing ruins a trip quicker than illness running rapid throughout. You must keep the vehicle sanitized to prevent spread of illness, but avoid using harsh chemicals to accomplish this task. Use family and pet safe products aboard.
